Members of 11 energy cooperatives in the municipality of Tilburg and region of Hart van Brabant took the initiative for a wind farm in Tilburg in 2018. This together with Energiefonds Brabant. As of April 2020, the wind farm’s four wind turbines provide enough renewable electricity for 7,500 households. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participation via Spinderdelen<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Cooperative wind park De Spinder U.A. is 50% citizen-owned. The other 50% is from Energiefonds Brabant. In 2018, 691 cooperative members purchased so-called Spinder parts, collectively raising 1.5 million euros for the citizen wind farm. Investors receive a good return for their Spider shares. In addition, their participation supports local energy cooperatives in other sustainable projects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a special project for me because it was my very first project for GreenTrust! And also my very first experience in wind energy. I was immediately thrown into the deep end with such a complex development site. There are many stakeholders and the project came on an existing industrial site. So we had to consider various business activities, which continued as usual. In addition, we were dealing with contaminated soil. So plenty to learn for me – with great results! <\/div>
