From 2009 to 2015, wind park Hartelkanaal was redeveloped and built on behalf of Investment Engineering Projects. The wind park has eight wind turbines with a combined capacity of 24 MW. Special challenge: the limited location. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Technically challenging project<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The eight wind turbines of wind park Hartelkanaal are located between the N15 and the Hartelkanaal in Rotterdam. Space here is limited. This made construction a solid technical challenge! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together, the wind turbines generate an average of 68 GWh of green electricity per year. This could supply green power to 18,000 households. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hartelkanaal is Greenchoice’s first wind park. The energy supplier launched a contest to name the wind turbines. They became: R\u00fczgar, Ventus, Viento, Vind, Tuuli, Vjetar, Umoya and Vindur. These are the words for “wind” in Turkish, Latin, Spanish, Norwegian, Finnish, Croatian, Zulu and Icelandic. Want to know more about this project? I can say with certainty that wind park Hartelkanaal is technically the most complex project I have ever worked on. Building eight wind turbines in a space the size of a “postage stamp” was no easy task. Still, it succeeded and I am proud of that!<\/div>
