The floating solar park BCT is located next to wind park BCT which is part of business park Business Centre Treeport along the A16 on the border of the Netherlands and Belgium. This floating solar park consists of 1100 solar panels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cable pooling at floating wind park BCT<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The electricity cable network is becoming overloaded in more and more places in the Netherlands (grid congestion), causing new requests for a connection or extension to the grid to take longer or be rejected for the time being. To be smart about this, cable pooling can be an option. Through cable pooling, it is possible to supply wind and solar energy to the grid at the same connection. This is done without exceeding the limits of the grid thanks to a controller that adjusts the solar farm if too much energy is produced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, the floating solar panels at Business Centre Treeport (BCT) needed space on the grid to dispose of their generated energy. Instead of building an entirely new connection, these solar panels can use the existing infrastructure of the wind turbines on the same site. The turbines have a fixed transmission capacity but do not always use the full capacity, leaving room for an additional cable connecting the solar panels to the existing purchasing station(power house). <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

We hebben in samenwerking met de partners en aannemers een nieuwe transformator geplaatst. De windturbines opereren op een veel hoger spanningsniveau dan het zonnepark, en met de trafo konden we de aansluiting t\u00f3ch mogelijk maken. De meeste projecten zijn allemaal net iets anders, daarom is cable pooling een erg leuke puzzel om te maken. Het is echt een congestiemanagementoplossing, we werken hierdoor mee aan het verlichten van de huidige overbelasting van het net. Hoe mooi is dat?<\/em><\/div>
