Klaas is one of the three founding fathers of GreenTrust. To our great sadness, Klaas passed away completely unexpectedly on June 7, 2024. On his way home from France, where he had climbed Mont Ventoux on his bicycle, he passed away in his sleep. His legacy <\/strong>Klaas was not only one of the founders of GreenTrust, but also a board member and member of the Management Team. He also held the role of director at GreenTrust Projects B.V. and was project director of Coronation Wind and Oostflakkee. These responsibilities have now been transferred to others, but his legacy lives on in the work he has established. Together with Tijmen and Jeroen, Klaas had been working on the succession of the management for quite some time. It is enormously sad that Klaas could not take up his new role in GreenTrust, but it also gives peace of mind to know that we have shaped the succession with his support. It is with great confidence that the board baton has been passed on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Klaas <\/strong>Klaas knew everyone, and everyone knew Klaas. It is unfathomable what a void he leaves behind, first and foremost for his family and relatives, but also for his friends, Film House Club members, Oosterbekers, colleagues and business associates. He was the center of the GreenTrust family and was there for everyone. Klaas was a builder, a friend, a boater, a gentleman farmer and a team player. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his own words:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a builder who loves puzzles. With a saw, boards and a bicycle dynamo, I built my first windmill as a child. The fact that wind can make a light come on is still magical to me. How do you put different components together so it fits? Building renewable energy parks is, of course, the next level. It takes a team to do that. I find it very special to work with a team to put the puzzle pieces together that lead to a successful wind farm. In my spare time, I enjoy my sailboat, where the love of wind and building come together. With the rudder in my hand, I am even more aware of the power of the wind. As a handyman, I can indulge myself, because maintaining a boat requires a lot of attention. The compass in the photo is from 1965, as is my sailboat.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
