Energy Park Koningspleij

Wind and Solar

Energy Park Koningspleij near Arnhem consists of three wind turbines and a solar park. The park supplies energy for public buildings and street lighting in 18 municipalities in the Arnhem-Nijmegen region. During construction, GreenTrust provided contract management and advice.

Participation through wind and solar shares

Wind and solar park Koningspleij consists of three wind turbines and 29,700 solar panels. The wind turbines along the Pleijroute near Arnhem generate 24,000 MWh of electricity annually, and the solar panels generate 12,000 MWh. This is equivalent to the energy consumption of 14,500 households. The electricity is supplied to, among others, the 18 municipalities in the Arnhem-Nijmegen region, which use it for public buildings and street lighting. 566 residents from Arnhem and the surrounding area have invested in wind shares through Rijn en IJssel Energy Cooperative, and 181 people in solar shares. They receive returns on their investment.

It was very enjoyable to contribute to this wonderful cooperative project in GreenTrust’s backyard. We worked with a great team, and it was new for me to experience a contract in execution. It was interesting to see how this phase operates.
