Wind Park in the mountains

In the mountains of Otočac, Croatia, GreenTrust aims to develop the largest wind park in Croatia. This is done in a nature-inclusive and social manner, ensuring that nature and the local environment benefit as well. In addition to feasibility, development, and technical design, communication is of great importance here.

Flora, fauna, and wind energy

Strengthening flora and fauna while generating green energy? That’s the goal of VE Lički Medvjed. And by constructing infrastructure, creating local employment, and stimulating community initiatives, the local environment also benefits.

Community involvement

Currently, the project is still in the development phase. This means: conducting nature studies, applying for permits, and working on the technical design. We keep the community informed through information evenings, local events, and lessons at primary schools. Construction is planned to start by the end of 2026. GreenTrust’s Role

Goran is our stakeholder manager in Croatia. Jeroen is the project director and Jorick is the project manager. Romana is involved with the technical design and Willem Jaap handles the financial management. Antonija takes care of communication.

I find it fantastic to work on the development of a wind park in my home country and want to make it a success. What makes me especially happy is that this project not only converts wind into green energy, but that the region – a less developed part of Croatia – will benefit economically. It can really give a positive boost to the area. There’s still a long way to go, but I look forward to seeing the wind turbines in action!
