Solar Park Larendeel

A group of Druten entrepreneurs, together with GreenTrust, took the initiative for Solar Park Larendeel. This plan provides for a solar park that can supply 37 GWh of sustainable electricity annually. Enough for over 12,000 households in the land of Maas and Waal.

Local initiative

The driving force behind Solar Park Larendeel is local entrepreneurs. Together with GreenTrust, they took the first steps for this project. Our plan, along with solar park Zevent, emerged as the winner of a tender for solar fields from the municipality of Druten. The decisive factors were the landscape integration and attention to community participation. Under the guidance of a landscape architect, Druten residents were able to contribute ideas for the design of the solar field. The regional cooperative Vitaal Druten has also joined, with the intention of becoming a co-owner or participating through bonds after completion. In 2024, GreenTrust transferred the project for the construction of the solar park. Completion is expected in early 2025.

Cable pooling

To connect Solar Field Larendeel to the public electricity network, a grid connection with Liander is needed. A distance of about 4 kilometers from Solar Park Larendeel. Problem: Liander only had one connection available. Therefore, Solar Field Larendeel and Solar Park Zevent decided on ‘cable pooling’. Both solar parks can thus share the connection with Liander. Our Stan successfully completed the installation of the purchasing station and cable routes.

GreenTrust’s Role

Various GreenTrust team members contributed to Solar Park Larendeel. Senne, Peter, Tijmen, and Annet led the development and permitting process, while Lisa handled the agreements and contracts. Andrija created the technical design, and Stan supervised the construction of the grid connection.
