GreenTrust and Keppel Estate submit plan for wind park Keppel-Eldrik

GreenTrust and Landgoed Keppel have jointly submitted a plan to the Bronckhorst Municipal Executive for the development of Keppel-Eldrik Wind Farm. With this plan we ask the college to work together for a sustainable future for the area.
The proposal assumes three to four wind turbines with a tip height of 230 to 250 meters. These can provide sustainable electricity for approximately 20,000 households annually. In doing so, we expressly opt for low-noise turbine designs so that the impact on the environment remains as small as possible.
Climate goals and landscape conservation
Wind park Keppel-Eldrik contributes to the climate goals of Bronckhorst, and supports the preservation of Landgoed Keppel. Part of the proceeds will go towards the maintenance of the estate, the restoration of the Achterhoekse coulisse landscape and the improvement of recreational facilities. In this way we use renewable energy to strengthen nature, heritage and recreation.
Local ownership and community involvement
An important principle is that residents share in the revenues. Therefore, we aim for at least fifty percent local ownership, for example through an energy cooperative. We also set up an environment fund for local projects, such as nature restoration, village sustainability and the construction of walking and cycling routes. In addition, we reserve a sum of €70,000 per wind turbine for a financial arrangement for local residents.
Working together on a careful plan
Keppel Estate and GreenTrust are working together with other initiators in the area. Together we want to achieve a carefully developed plan that fits into the landscape and contributes to energy transition.
