Solar Park De Zonnewilg

Cable Pooling

Solar Park De Zonnewilg, together with the nine wind turbines of Wind Park Den Tol, forms an energy landscape along the German border near Netterden. The solar park has a total installed capacity of approximately 16 MW. The park is expected to start supplying energy in the spring of 2025.

Long-term Collaboration

Solar Park de Zonnewilg is an initiative by local landowners and Windunie. Previously, they developed nine wind turbines at this location. GreenTrust also supported the tendering, financing, and construction here.

Energy Landscape

The design of the wind park already took into account the possible addition of a solar park. The cables from the wind park will soon also transport the electricity from the solar park. This optimally utilizes the capacity and requires only one connection to the electricity network.

The wind park in combination with solar is a great start for an energy landscape. This might potentially be expanded in the future.

De Zonnewilg is an example of the direction we want to take: an energy landscape where sustainable energy is generated from different sources. Combined with storage, this could form a fully-fledged energy system in the future.

GreenTrust’s Role

Several colleagues from GreenTrust are working on Solar Park de Zonnewilg. Lieuwe Dragt supported the project towards financial close as a financial advisor. Stan Reinders assisted with the tendering and is the project manager for the construction.
