Solar park Zonnewilg

Cablepooling

Together with the nine wind turbines of Windpark Den Tol, Zonnepark de Zonnewilg forms an energy landscape along the German border near Netterden. The solar park has a total installed capacity of about 16 MW. Since the spring of 2025, the solar park has been supplying energy.

Long-term collaboration

Zonnepark de Zonnewilg is an initiative of local landowners and Windunie. They previously developed nine wind turbines at this site. Again, GreenTrust supported the procurement, financing and construction.

Energy Landscape

The design of the wind park already took into account the possible arrival of a solar farm. The cables from the wind park will soon also carry the power from the solar park. This ensures optimum capacity utilization and requires only one connection to the electricity grid.

The wind park combined with solar is a great start to an energy landscape. Perhaps this can be expanded in the future.

The Sun Willow is an example of the direction we want to go: an energy landscape where renewable energy is generated from various sources. Combined with storage, this could become a full-fledged energy system in the future.

Role GreenTrust

Several GreenTrust colleagues are working on solar park Zonnewilg. Lieuwe Dragt supported the project toward financial close as financial advisor. Stan Reinders assisted with the procurement and is project manager for construction.
