Wind Park Den Tol

Wind for farmers

To the east of Netterden, close to the German border, lies Wind Park Den Tol. An initiative of six agricultural families, who ultimately managed to realize nine wind turbines here. Since 2022, the wind park has been in full operation. With the addition of Solar Park De Zonnewilg, an energy landscape will be created here in the future.

Farmers’ initiative

Six agricultural families, together with Windunie Development, took the initiative for this wind park east of Netterden. Interested parties could participate in the project with bonds. Construction began in September 2021. In total, nine Nordex N117 wind turbines have been installed with a hub height of 124.5 meters, a tip height of 183 meters, and 3.6 MW capacity. Since June 2022, the wind farm has been fully operational. For more information, visit the project website.

Energy landscape with wind and solar

The Solar Park De Zonnewilg will also be added to the wind farm. Its construction started in 2024. The design of the wind farm already took into account the possible addition of a solar park. The wind park’s cables can also transport the electricity from the solar park. This optimally utilizes the capacity and requires only one connection to the electricity network. The wind farm in combination with solar is a great start for an energy landscape.

I’m delighted by the enthusiasm of the owners. Frank and André are so driven, and they carry the entire project with their energy. It was a joy to build the wind park together with these two enthusiasts, among others.
