Wind park Den Tol
Wind at Farmers
East of Netterden, close to the German border, is wind park Den Tol. An initiative of six farming families, who eventually managed to create nine wind turbines here. Since 2022, the wind farm has been operating at full capacity. The arrival of a solar park will create an energy landscape here in the future.
Farmers’ initiative
Six farming families together with Windunie Development took the initiative for this wind park east of Netterden. Interested parties could participate in the project with bonds. Construction began in September 2021. A total of nine Nordex N117 wind turbines were installed with a shaft height of 124.5 meters, a tip height of 183 meters and 3.6 MW capacity. As of June 2022, the wind farm is fully operational. For more information, visit the project website.
Energy landscape with wind and solar
The wind park will also include the solar park De Zonneweide. Its construction is slated to begin in 2024. The design of the wind farm already took into account the possible arrival of a solar park. The cables from the wind farm can also carry power from the solar park. This ensures optimal capacity utilization and requires only one connection to the power grid. The wind farm combined with solar is a great start to an energy landscape.

I am made happy by the enthusiasm of the owners. Frank and André are so driven and they pull the whole project along with their energy. It was a joy to build the wind farm with these two enthusiasts, among others.
Role GreenTrust
A number of GreenTrusters worked on wind park Den Tol. Bojan and Romana provided the technical design. Stan took care of the procurement for the civil works. Tijs supervised construction and supported Stan in the procurement process.
