As a sustainable energy development consultant, Jorick is involved in wind parks, solar parks, energy storage, and energy hubs throughout the country.

“I’ve been on the basketball court ever since I was six. My dad played, too. And if it’s up to me, I’ll pass on that love for the sport someday. I love the speed, the intensity, and the social aspect of the sport. In basketball, your team has 24 seconds to set up an offense. That requires a big-picture view, trust, and the ability to adapt quickly. Everyone has a role, but you always do it together.

I draw that same energy from my work as well. I enjoy working on projects that make a tangible contribution to the energy transition. Wind, solar, energy storage, charging stations, and other energy projects: these are areas where there will be a lot of work in the coming years. It’s precisely the combination of technology, space, and the environment that makes it interesting to me. With every project, you have to take into account many different interests, such as ecology, local residents, infrastructure, and spatial developments.

“Just like on the field, work is all about collaboration, coordination, and thinking ahead. You have to know where everyone stands, react quickly to what’s happening, and always look for the best next step. I prefer to make sure everyone is moving in the right direction.”
