Wind park Oostzeedijk

Efficient grid use

The three Vestas V90 turbines of the ‘old’ wind park Kats have been replaced by three Nordex N149 turbines. This increased the wind farm’s installed capacity from 9 MW to 15 MW. The Nordex turbines have a rotor of 149 meters, a shaft height of 125 and a tip height of 199 meters.

Kingfish, a fish farm near the wind park, needed a connection to the power grid. The wind park already had a cable running to Goes de Poel high-voltage substation. Thus was born the idea of a partnership and a closed distribution center, where both the fish farmer and the wind farm are connected. The power produced by the wind farm thus goes directly to Kingfish. The load on the power grid is thus a lot less than if wind park and grower both had separate grid connections. Want to know more about this distribution system? Energy cooperative Zeeuwind explains it in a video on YouTube.

Planning

Construction of the “new” turbines began in June 2024. In the fall was the take over of the turbines. The project was then transferred to Zeeuwind for management.

At wind park Oostzeedijk, we looked for local cooperation, to use the grid connection efficiently. That worked out very well. The capacity of the wind turbines could be increased because the fish farmer needed power. Efficient balancing allowed us to install larger turbines. In addition, the cooperation with the contractor H4A was very good, making it a successful project.

Role GreenTrust

Several GreenTrusters worked on wind park Oostzeedijk. So Joost did the financing, Bojan made the technical drawings and Tijs supervised the construction.
