Winning design

A group of Druten entrepreneurs has teamed up with GreenTrust to initiate Solar Park Larendeel. This plan provides for a solar park that can provide 37 GWh of sustainable electricity annually. Enough for over 12,000 households in the land of Maas and Waal.

Local initiative

The driving force behind Solar Park Larendeel are local entrepreneurs. Together with GreenTrust, they took the first steps for this project. Our plan, along with solar park Zevent, came out as the winner of a tender for solar fields from the municipality of Druten. The decisive factors were the incorporation of the landscape and attention to the participation of the environment. Led by a landscape architect, residents of Druten were able to contribute ideas on the design of the solar park. The area cooperative Vitaal Druten is also hooked up, with the intention of becoming co-owners or participating via bonds after completion. In 2024, GreenTrust handed over the project for construction of the solar farm. Completion is expected in early 2025.

Cable pooling

To connect Solar Park Larendeel to the public electricity grid, a grid connection with Liander is required. A distance of about 4 kilometers from Solar Meadow Larendeel. Problem: Liander only had one connection available. That’s why Solar Park Larendeel and solar farm Zevent decided on “cable pooling’. Both solar parks can thus share the connection to Liander. Our Stan brought the construction of the procurement station and cable routes to completion.

The development of Solar Park Larendeel was a fantastic process to have had the opportunity to oversee. Thanks to the cooperation with local parties and the landscape design, this solar meadow not only generates a lot of renewable electricity, but also pays attention to nature and the environment.

Role GreenTrust

Several GreenTrusters collaborated on Solar Park Larendeel. Thus Senne, Peter, Tijmen and Annet led the development and permit procedure and Lisa took care of the agreements and contracts.The technical design was done by Andrija and Stan supervised the construction of the grid integration.
