Wind Park Cahermurphy

Het waait vaak hard in het Ierse Cahermurphy. Een prachtige plek dus voor een windpark. Er staan nu drie Enercon E92 windturbines en in 2025 komt er nog een vierde turbine bij. GreenTrust zorgt hier onder andere voor het technisch ontwerp, de bouw en het beheer.

High winds

Wind Park Cahermurphy is owned by the Murphy family and several other local landowners. There are currently three wind turbines with a hub height of 85 meters and a rotor diameter of 92 meters. Relatively low, but thanks to the high wind speed of about 9 m/s at this location, the turbines can supply electricity to no less than 7000 households.

Padraig Howard verzorgde de ontwikkeling van het windpark en was contactpersoon voor GreenTrust. In 2018 begon de bouw, in 2020 werden de drie windturbines opgeleverd. Jack Hennessy zorgde ervoor zorgde dat het veilig en goed gebeurde.

Through the grapevine…

This park is proof of the power of networking. Klaas had been working on various projects in Ireland since 2004. It started with the Bally Water project, which came to Klaas via Pim de Ridder (Izzy Projects). Pim had met a man in an Irish pub who ‘had some land and also a grid connection’. When they later went to Aurich in Germany, they met another Irishman, Padraig Howard, on the train. He wanted to develop a wind farm, which eventually became Cahermurphy. Conclusion? All good ideas start in an Irish pub!

Rol GreenTrust

Cahermurphy is een duidelijk voorbeeld van goed teamwork. Klaas was contractmanager en betrokken bij de ontwikkeling, Tijs werkte als site manager tijdens de bouw. Lieuwe heeft de financiering rondgemaakt en Romana zorgde voor het technisch ontwerp. Joost deed het projectmanagement van zowel de bouw van het windpark als van de netaansluiting. Voor de gelegenheid hadden we een extra GreenTruster: Jack Hennessy. Hij zorgde dat het park veilig gebouwd werd.
