Great interest in open day

Wind park A2 Lage Rooijen attracted over 400 visitors on Saturday, September 6. Neighbors and other interested parties had the chance during an open day to see how the three wind turbines of Coöperatie Bommelerwaar and GreenTrust are taking shape.

On safari along the big three
With an open bus, visitors went in search of ‘ the big three’ – the three turbines under construction. At the first turbine, the mast was already fully erect. At the second, visitors followed the hoisting of the nacelle – a spectacular moment. At the third turbine they stepped out for an excursion. Builders explained and showed up close the nacelle, mast sections and blades that were ready at the construction site. So visitors saw how loose parts on the ground eventually form a complete wind turbine.

Meeting and fun
In addition to information about the technology, there was plenty of room for meetings. Coöperatie Bommelerwaar and nature association Capreton told at their information stand about the cooperative project and about nature measures in the vicinity of the wind park. Children entertained themselves with hut building and other games and the adults with live music. The sunny weather completed the day.

Sustainable energy with a local face
GreenTrust and Coöperatie Bommelerwaar are jointly realizing wind park A2 Lage Rooijen. GreenTrust develops, builds and manages the park and is co-shareholder. The cooperative shares in the ownership and actively involves residents. This creates a wind park that not only generates sustainable energy, but also adds value to the region.
