Wind park Oostflakkee

Local initiative

Wind park Oostflakkee is an initiative of five local farmers and project developer Renewable Energy Factory. Kallista Energy purchased the wind park. With this, this French independent energy producer took its first step across the border. Wind park Oostflakkee consists of eight wind turbines (E126-EP3), which, with a capacity of 32 MW per year, provide enough green power for more than 30,000 households. GreenTrust supported Kallista Energy in the implementation of this project.

Local initiative

Tonnie van Peperstraten is one of the local farmers and chairman of the initiators. “Over a period of 11 years, we developed Windpark Oostflakkee. Without the cooperation of local people we would not have managed this development.” Jack van Vugt, local farmer and initiator, finds it “beautiful that we can help with the energy transition in this way.”

Construction of wind park Oostflakkee began in April 2020. A year later, it officially went into operation. Kallista Energy has had the construction of the wind farm captured in eight short films and one long overview film. Wind park Oostflakkee was special for me because I was allowed to legally guide the project through the registration of the grid and the transfer to Stedin. This was the first time I had gone through such a process. Super interesting!

Role GreenTrust

Several GreenTrusters are working on wind park Oostflakkee. Klaas was director of the wind park, Christien Kalteren took over from him. Joost supervised the construction. Senne is the commercial manager of Wind park Oostflakkee. Lisa took care of all land rights and Marlous Nooi did the communication around the wind farm. This has now been taken over by Eva. The management team is now responsible for full service daily management with Senne Koetsier as the first point of contact.
