Wind Park Kroningswind

Kroningswind is an initiative of eleven agricultural families on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee in South Holland. 19 wind turbines have been built with a combined capacity between 70-80MW.

Collaboration on all fronts

For the development of this project, collaboration took place on various fronts. The municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee and local farmers worked together to enable the development of 19 wind turbines and the combination of sustainable energy and nature.

Festive opening in 2022

After achieving financial close in November 2020, the first pile was driven into the ground in May 2021. Almost a year later, the first wind turbine was erected, and in November 2022, the entire wind park was festively opened by Mayor Ada Grootenboer-Dubbelman (Goeree-Overflakkee) and Stéphanie Dobbelaere (Investment Director Energy Transition at TINC). Together, the 19 turbines generate about 80 MW of electrical power per year, providing green electricity to about 65,000 households. Wind Fund Goeree-Overflakkee

Kroningswind believes it’s important that the surrounding area benefits from the wind turbines. Therefore, the wind park contributes to the Wind Fund Goeree-Overflakkee. For each MWh of electricity generated, Kroningswind will deposit €0.50 into the Wind Fund. The deposited amount is intended for projects that can be submitted by residents and organizations within a radius of 3.5 kilometers around Kroningswind. GreenTrust’s Role

Various GreenTrust team members are working on Kroningswind. GreenTrust’s founder Klaas Guldie served as project director and was responsible for contracting and procurement. Lieuwe Dragt is the project manager, handling contracting and procurement. Corine van Woudenberg is the financial manager and does this together with Dejana Prokic. Bojan created the technical drawings. Eva de Zeeuw is active as stakeholder and communication manager. Lisa Hoffard and Annelies Wesselink are involved as lawyers, particularly with land issues, Willem Jaap de Vries with permits, and Anja Beld provides overall project support and document management.
