Wind Park Roosendaalsche Vliet

Meeting in the barn

Wind Park Roosendaalsche Vliet is an initiative of 20 farmers in the Roosendaal region. Together, they invested in the construction of a wind park along the A17 highway. The wind park has been operational since 2016, with three Vestas V90 wind turbines generating a combined 9 MW.

Long-term commitment

The three Vestas V90 wind turbines are 105 meters tall and have rotor blades of 44 meters. The wind energy generated can supply electricity to approximately 5,000 of the 35,359 households in the municipality of Roosendaal.

The project required long-term commitment: the initiative started in 2002, and the park was built in 2015. “We didn’t know it would take this long,” laughs Jan Denissen, a dairy farmer from Nispen and chairman of the WP Roosendaalsche Vliet BV partnership, in BN de Stem. “I really did lose heart at times.” More information about the park can be found on the project website.
