Wind Park Westerse Polder
Replacement and upscaling
After 20 years, the current Westerse Polder wind farm needed replacement. The seven wind turbines of the existing wind farm were replaced by five Enercon E-126 EP3 wind turbines. On behalf of Investment Engineering Projects, GreenTrust managed the development, tendering, and construction.
Significant upscaling
From seven wind turbines with a combined capacity of 3.5 MW to five Enercon E-126 wind turbines with a capacity of 4 MW per turbine. This means a significant increase in efficiency! The E-126 has a rotor diameter of 127 meters and a hub height of 135 meters.
Green energy
The old wind turbines generated enough power for 1,500 households. Since the summer of 2021, the new ones have been generating green energy for about 20,000 households. Significantly more with fewer turbines.
Residents near the wind farm can participate in the wind farm through a bond loan. Want to read more about this project? You can do so via the project website.

GreenTrust’s Role
Jorick Messink was involved in the development of the Westerse Polder project. Joost handled the tendering process and supervised the construction. Klaas and Jeroen were also involved in the tendering. Lieuwe drafted and sourced the PPA from the market. Romana took care of the technical design. Filippos manages the operations.
