What is an energy hub?

An energy hub is a collaboration between parties, often companies, that exchange electricity and transport capacity based on supply and demand. This often occurs partly outside the public grid. A hub can include physical generation and storage, but can also be purely legal or organizational in nature.

Our approach: from idea to operation

GreenTrust focuses on realization. We support from the initial exploration to a fully operational energy hub—practical, phased, and results-oriented. Our services align with subsidies and are based on practical experience. No standard advice, but custom solutions that work.

Why collaborate with us?
– We guide your organization from idea to realization and management.
– We accelerate the energy transition in an innovative and positive way.
– Collaboration forms the solid foundation of every project.
– With more than 40 specialists – from lawyers and developers to technical and software experts – we are ready to assist you.

The steps to an energy hub

Ready to start?

We work for companies, park managers, and collaborations that actively want to build an energy hub. Together we explore the possibilities and take concrete steps.

We support the entire process or specific parts, such as a quickScan, stakeholder analysis, or legal advice.

Examples of energy hubs we are working on:

  • Wind and Solar Park at Business Centre Treeport (BCT); combining two energy streams using an Energy Management System (EMS).
  • Citizen Wind Farm A2 Lage Rooijen; preparatory research into direct supply to a local consumer and a charging plaza for freight traffic.
  • Energy Grote Haar; explorations for direct supply for the new business park Grote Haar, including a potential charging plaza for freight traffic.
  • Wind Farm Egchelse Heide; exploration of direct heat supply via a heat network and hydrogen production for local industry/mobility. Permit application for a co-located energy storage system to reduce local congestion and improve grid stability.
  • Solar Park de Blauwe Poort; Permit application for a co-located energy storage system to reduce local congestion and improve grid stability.
