Sun, water, and nature characterize Solar Park De Blauwe Poort in the municipality of Laarbeek. The solar park, built in 2022, generates 9.5MW of green energy, sufficient for about 3,000 households.

Landscape integration with the environment

Solar park De Blauwe Poort is located next to the nature reserve of the same name in the municipality of Laarbeek. Sun, water, and nature contribute to the sustainability of the region at this location. The project is an initiative of GreenTrust in collaboration with local landowners. Brabantse Eigen Energie has joined as a partner for the construction.

The solar meadow was developed in consultation with local organizations, such as the Stichting Platform Duurzaam Laarbeek and Coöperatie Laarbeek Energie. The landscape design was created together with local residents and a landscape architect. This resulted in a plan that not only generates solar energy but also provides ample space for recreation. I think Solar Park De Blauwe Poort is an incredibly cool project! It was my first project as a project manager, which is why I also learned so much from it. I was determined to bring this project to a successful conclusion!

GreenTrust’s Role

Tijmen is the project director of Solar Park De Blauwe Poort. Senne took over the role of project manager from Peter. Jorick dealt with the permits and Andrija with the technical design. Stan supervised the construction. Lieuwe works on the financing and Eva and Christine handle communication and stakeholder management. Richard is responsible for operational management.
