Zonneweide
The Blue Gate

Sun, water and nature

Sun, water and nature characterize Solar Meadow The Blue Gate in the municipality of Laarbeek. Built in 2022, the solar meadow, with 9.5MW, generates enough green energy for about 3,000 households.

Landscaping with the environment

Zonneweide De Blauwe Poort is located next to the nature reserve of the same name in the municipality of Laarbeek. Sun, water and nature contribute to the sustainability of the region at this location. The project is an initiative of GreenTrust in partnership with local landowners. Brabant-based Eigen Energie stepped in as a partner for construction.

The solar meadow was developed in consultation with organizations in the area, such as the Sustainable Laarbeek Platform Foundation and Cooperatie Laarbeek Energie. The landscape design was designed together with people from the area and a landscape architect. This has created a plan that offers plenty of room for recreation in addition to solar energy generation. More information about the project can be found at www.zonneweidedeblauwepoort.nl.

I think Solar Meadow The Blue Gate is an incredibly cool project! It was my first project as a project manager, which also taught me an awful lot. I was determined to see this project through to completion!
